Iconic Album Artwork
This iconic album art by the late Michael Jackson. The costuming consisting of him in dressed in heavy black clothing with buckle and zipper details create a legendary 'bad boy' look. Topped off with the blood red typography spelling simply 'BAD' in graffiti font. The cover is so simple yet so effective in portraying him and the album as very hardcore.
This is the album artwork for the band The Arctic Monkeys whose audience and style is a bit more similar to the style of our artists genre. I especially like the how it looks like a real life dark, eerie estate whilst the imagines in the window are vibrant cartoons creating a huge contrast of colour and style.

Weekly plan
Our plan for the following weeks will be to finish off a very detailed storyboard and take that along with us next week when we begin to start filming what we can. Part of the filming will have to wait till the Christmas season is in full affect due to the availability of lots of colourful lights to fit our aesthetic

Mise-En-Scene
My primary role in the group is mise-en-scene which consists of planning the costumes, props, makeup, lighting and setting of the shots.
The protagonist in the video is the lead singer Aaliyah Ade, who has an urban/indie fashion sense which is fitting to the video as it will be an unconventional style video. I want her to be slightly sexualised when in shots with the boy but still embracing her indie style.
Then fully gaging her personal style when she breaks away from the boy to represent her gaining self confidence
The male lead is an insensitive and egotistic character similar to the stereotypical slightly meta sexual but hypermasculine bad boys that girls swoon over for example James Dean or Danny from grease. Therefore I'd like to clothe him in skinny black jeans, a white t shirt and a black leather jacket to pay homage to James dean, or a black bomber jacket to create a more modern representation of the male heartthrob.
Props needed for the male is a cigarette to further show his bad boy persona, as well as a mobile phone in the beginning of the video to show him being distracted from the girl.

Logo
This is our first draft of our artist logo.
We took city lights and layered it over our chosen font using photoshop. This is fitting for our artist as her stage name VIVID connotes bright lights and her being from London city makes it further suiting as it holds a lot of connotations of dark nights with very bright lights and a busy city vibe.
When planning our music video and trying to decide the different scenes, we altered our ideas slightly in the process. Because of how lyric heavy our song is, we'd like to convey the songs message in the video a bit more than we initially planned with more scenes with the male lead. We will use montage editing to accommodate the lyrics "my lover" by showing scenes of them being in an intimate, close relationship and also highlighting the lyrics "am I ugly...he doesn't love me" by showing scenes of the boy gradually showing her less affection.
We've also decided to implement a new scene 3/4 through the video with a scene of the artist in a bed with white bedding to match the repetition of the word "sheets"
