Digipak Research
A digipak is a promotional package of an album that consists of the album cd, a dvd featuring either the behind the scenes of the making of the album or the music videos of the singles released. It'll also contain a lyric booklet and a booklet of pictures of the artist.
Here is the digipak design for Justin Bieber's Believe album. As you can see there's a consistent theme running amongst the pictures with a lot of orange smoke to create the concept of it being a hot sun then the first two pictures is him standing on the sun in front of the moon. It consists of close up shots, mid shots and wide shots so the pictures wont be too similar.
In Rihanna's Loud digipak she uses the 3 top squares to create one full image which is a unique concept. There's a constant colour scheme of red from the red roses to her hair to her lips creating a floral but sensual feeling whilst the two cd covers have pink roses to provide a difference in theme and also to make stand out from the rest of the images.
