Digipak draft 2

This is the 2nd draft of my digipak. I balanced out the use of the soft lilac colour so it isnt too overpowering. As well as changing around a few of the pictures such as the front cover and cd pictures as I feel these images are more suitable.

Mise En Scene (Southbank)

For todays shoot I've paired blue jeans with a white turtle neck with a possible lilac halter neck top over it. I think this outfit is suitable for todays shoot as we are filming scenes that in the narrative will be quite early on in the breakup stage thus maybe our artist feeling a bit more pressure to look sexy to gain back her confidence.

Digipak 1st draft

This is the first draft of my digipak, as you can see there's definitely a purple dreamy house style going on. I'm unsure of the background image for the ads as I don't want to wash out the entire pack with the purple theme, I'm also uncertain about the colour of the font I've chosen for the track list because it's quite subtle and I may want something that will stand out a bit more

digipak photoshoot 2

For my digipak I wanted a natural non artificial feel to my pictures, lucky when we went out to film last week Oliver was able to take many spontaneous shots of me which go with the type of feel I desired.

Evaluation of filming (Soho)

After watching back the footage filmed on Friday I really like the lighting and quality of the shots and the style of filming with it being quite raw and rough. We found that with some of the hand held shots the footage was too shaky so next time when we go out filming it'll be essential to bring a steady cam with us.

Film shoot - Soho

Today we walked around Soho, stopping at anywhere we found visually interesting and that fit the aesthetic of our artist, we shot some short wide shot motifs of the artist dancing in front of a colour wall as well as a hand held shoot of the artist singing and dancing around to the entire song as the camera followed her around and the artist was ‘flirting with the camera’.
We also did some still takes on the train to soho so we’d capture footage of graffitied walls and the city.
I’d say that today was a successful shoot day with us taking into consideration the lighting and well as costumes meaning that we most likely won’t have to do a reshoot in the same location.

mise en scene-Soho

Today we will be filming around Soho area, our aim is to find some edgy little backstreets and colourful walls of graffiti to use as our background.
The costume for this shoot was very quite simple with a mustard top and grey hoodie topped with a black jacket with some dark blue jeans and black trainers. I chose to keep the outfit quite minimal in order to draw more attention to the colourful background as well as the artist.

Result: As you can see our artist is not at all washed out by the background she's still a focal point however the background still pops and makes the image.

Location Scouting

We want our video to capture the fast and rugged pace of the city and for our artist to represent a young woman losing herself in the chaos of it all.

We've chosen locations relevant to this idea by filming in mainly taking place in Soho and Southbank to capture the beautiful ambiance of the city and people in it.

We've chosen the Greenwich underground footpath to shoot more eerie confrontational scenes as we feel like the simplicity of the black brick walls and twitching overhead lights will create a dramatic affect.

photoshoot day 2

Today was our second photoshoot day for the digipaks. We played around the concept of having an urban themed shoot that gave off a verisimilitude feel as opposed to a highly artificial set up photoshoot. I'd like to use photoshop to see if i can create some interesting visuals with these pictures.

digipak photoshoot

For our digipaks we took a range of edgy pictures with different props to symbolise the theme of our album and follow the genre conventions of our artist. The story behind the first image relates to the lyrics of our single 'Sheets' which is a song about a girl whose lover has fallen out of love with her and found someone else. The veil along with the black flower crown and neutral face make for a great contrast as it shows that she feels bitter, angry and sad about losing her love.
Despite the high quality lighting of these pictures and good representations I don't think they're front cover material and would look better as a back cover or inside pocket. We must continue to shoot more photoshoots in order to complete our digipak.
